I believe the whole "Ultrawide issue" in Diablo 2 Resurrected could simply be adressed by adding a button in the lobby, when creating a new game.
Do you agree/disagree or have a better solution? Feel free to leave your comments. Or give me a thumbs up/down.

Update: Activision Blizzard has made a compromise. Limit the game to 19:9.

My thoughts:

This makes 21:9 players sad by still having black bars while also retaining a "ultrawide advantage" to frustrate the concerned pvp dudes. No one wins.

It could work for ultrawide users if we got a zoom option. 21:9 would lose some vertical but add horozontal, up to the limits of 19:9. Still a hard sell for 32:9 users.

I think a "allow all" or a "limit aspect" button to 4:3, 16:9, 21:9 and 32:9 would be the best way to fix the issue, but at least it has been somewhat adressed by giving us 19:9.

Also please spread the word. Even if you disagree. I don't mind.

I am not a native english speaker and this is my first video speaking English. My grammar is probably not perfect. This is what I attempt to say.

Hello Youtube and fellow gamers excited for the new Diablo 2 Resurrected.

The Alpha versions of this game supported aspect ratios wider than 16:9.
But this have later been taken away in the newer Beta version of the game.

Alot of players are for ultrawide. While others are not because it gives these players advantages, mainly in PVP. But as we all know very few players actually does any serious PVP in Diablo 2.

This is my suggestion on how to solve this. Letting the pvp players have their restricted games. And letting most of the community to have fun and use their gaming monitors.
I think even the most hardcore PVP players are not against the 16:9 apect ratio. But if you are, I'm sure it would be just as easy to implement a force 4:3 button too.

I think it's easier for Blizzard to implement this one button, compared to changing the game by adding features, such as fog of war or messing with the games core mechanics.

So I beleive that this is the solution that would work for most of us, if not everyone. People who want to play with ultrawide can join games that are not restricted and people who want PVP can rest assured that their games are restricted. And you can also PVP with Ultrawide if you join games that support that.

So Everyone wins, everyone can enjoy the game and have fun:)
