In this video I explain how I think the cuban embassy attackers directed microwave weapon works. As well as how it could be portable. It would need to be within 2KM for this to have any chance to work.

It most likely uses a Virtual Cathode Oscilator (vircator)
or
multi-wave Cherenkov generator (MWCG)

These are the only transmitters powerful enough to cook a person from a distance.

I figured I might as well put my two cents in since they haven't fully figured out exactly what it was yet.
