For those who don’t get what I’m trying to do here let me explain. At the end of the first season they start using bits of Love Like You in the credits. This continues through the second and third season gaining new bits of the song. It culminates in bubbled where we both have the full song, but it transitions from the credits into the episode itself. Using in the credits is showing how the song represents the show itself. If the opening theme is telling what to expect from a show, the ending theme is a summary of everything that happened. As a song Love Like You is a perfect example being the song equivalent or the essence of Steven Universe. By using Escapism in the end credits for the diamond days arc I’m trying to do the same thing. Where Love Like you is Steven Universe, I think that Escapism is diamond days.
