M. Bison is one of the most recognizable villains in all of gaming, very well may be the single character Capcom has used most to drive Street Fighter's story forward, and is currently dead.
Though he held perhaps the biggest L yet at the end of Street Fighter 5, we still have to wonder if he'll wind up resurrected in time to get on the roster for Street Fighter 6. Looking back over his history, there may be a case to be made that this will indeed happen.
Story lines in fighting games are often a few rungs down on the priority ladder, and Street Fighter's story has been told almost entirely out of order over the last 30 years, so we've often seen inconsistencies or even downright retroactive continuity.
M. Bison has a lot of people mad thanks to his authoritarian tendencies, and the good guys have gotten to him a few times now. That said, bad guys tend to have ways of coming back for sequels, and Bison has done this many times thanks to his Shadaloo scientists paired with a stock of bonus bodies.
Just how many times has this happened? We've gone through and done the research to offer an answer, but have uncovered a handful of interesting (as well as extra confusing) Street Fighter truths along the way.
