0The Summer Olympics are one of the world's most watched events, featuring thousands of athletes from around the globe. But do you know how often they occur? The Summer Olympics are held every four years, alternating with the Winter Olympics. This means that every two years, either the Summer or Winter Olympics is taking place.
The modern Olympics started in Athens, Greece, in 1896 and only included summer sports. The Winter Olympics were introduced much later, in 1924, and were also held in the same year as the Summer Olympics until 1992 when they started being held on a separate schedule.
Each Summer Olympics features around 28 sports, with new sports sometimes added and old ones removed. The next Summer Olympics will be held in Paris in 2024, followed by Los Angeles in 2028.
