I think it's a shame that the NASL's approach to penalties never really caught on. The attacking player had 5 seconds to move the ball from the 35 yard line up and shoot. The keeper could come off the line.
This comes from Soccer Bowl 1981 - the Chicago Sting vs the New York Cosmos. Sadly, this is near the end of the glory days of the NASL.
