To add friends on PS4, you can follow these steps:

Turn on your PS4 and log in to your PlayStation Network (PSN) account.

From the main menu, navigate to the "Friends" tab located on the top menu bar.

In the Friends menu, select "Search" to start looking for your friend.

You have a few options to find your friend:

a. Search by Online ID: Enter your friend's PSN Online ID into the search field and select "Search." If their account is public and they have a unique Online ID, their profile should appear in the search results.

b. Search by Name: If you know your friend's real name and they have allowed it to be displayed on their profile, you can enter their name in the search field and select "Search." This method may yield more results, so make sure to choose the correct profile.

c. From Recent Players: If you've recently played with or against someone in an online game, you can go to the "Players Met" section and find your friend there. Select their profile and choose "Add Friend."

Once you find the correct profile, select it to view more details about your friend.

On their profile page, select "Add Friend" to send a friend request.

You can choose to add a message to your friend request if you'd like to include a personalized note.

Confirm the friend request by selecting "Send."

Your friend will receive the friend request and can choose to accept or decline it. If they accept, they will be added to your friends list.

You can manage your friends list by going to the Friends menu and selecting "Friends" again. From there, you can view your current friends, see friend requests you've sent, and manage your friend settings.
