How to Appear Offline in COD Warzone Verdansk (Hide From Friends)
2Here’s a step-by-step guide to appear offline in Call of Duty: Warzone (Verdansk) on your PlayStation 5 using your controller, as of March 31, 2025. Note that Warzone uses your Activision account status alongside your PS5 settings, so you’ll need to adjust both for full effect.
Step 1: Set PS5 Online Status to Appear Offline
From the PS5 home screen, press the PS button on your controller to open the control center.
Use the left stick to move to "Profile" and press X to select it.
Scroll to "Online Status" with the left stick and press X.
Highlight "Appear Offline" and press X to confirm. This hides your status from PSN friends, but Warzone might still show you online unless you adjust your Activision settings.
Step 2: Adjust In-Game Activision Status
Launch Warzone from the PS5 home screen by selecting it with X.
Once in the main menu, press the Options button to open the side menu.
Use the left stick to go to "Settings" and press X.
Press R1 to switch to the "Account & Network" tab.
Scroll to "Online Status" with the left stick, then press X.
Select "Appear Offline" with X. This changes your visibility within Warzone’s social menu, but it won’t fully hide you from Activision friends unless you tweak your account further.
Step 3: Update Activision Account (Optional for Full Privacy)
Warzone pulls your online status from your Activision account, not just PSN or in-game settings. For complete invisibility:
Exit Warzone by pressing the PS button, selecting the game card, and choosing "Close Game" with X.
Use a phone or another device to visit the Activision website and log in with your Activision ID (the one linked to your PSN).
Navigate to "Profile" in the top-right corner with your device.
Go to "Linked Accounts", find your PlayStation Network account, and select it.
Look for "Sign On Visible", then change it to "None". Save the change.
Return to Warzone, and your status should now be fully offline to everyone, including cross-platform friends.
Step 4: Test It in the Lobby
Restart Warzone by selecting it from the home screen with X.
Join a Verdansk lobby (pre-game or match). Press the touchpad to open "Game Channels", then R1 to the "Text" tab.
Type a test message to the "Match" channel with X and R2 (as shown in the prior chat guide). Ask a friend if they see you online or get the message. If they don’t, you’re successfully offline.
