How to Change your Display Name in COD Warzone Verdansk
3Here’s a step-by-step guide to changing your display name in Call of Duty: Warzone (Verdansk) on your PlayStation 5 using your controller, as of March 31, 2025. Your display name is tied to your Activision ID, and changing it requires a Rename Token:
Step 1: Check for a Rename Token
You need a Rename Token to change your display name. You get one every six months, with a max of two stored at once. If you’ve used yours recently, you’ll need to wait.
Step 2: Open Warzone Settings
Launch Warzone from the PS5 home screen by selecting it with X.
From the main menu, press the Options button on your controller to open the side menu.
Use the left stick to move to "Settings" and press X to enter.
Step 3: Navigate to Activision Account
Press R1 or L1 to switch to the "Account & Network" tab.
Scroll with the left stick to "Activision Account" under the "Online" section and press X to select it.
Step 4: Change Your Display Name
Highlight "Change Display Name" and press X. A window will show your current name and how many Rename Tokens you have.
If you have a token, press X again to bring up the text box.
Use the left stick to type a new name with the on-screen keyboard, pressing X for each letter, or connect a USB keyboard for speed.
When finished, scroll to "Confirm" with the left stick and press X, or press R2 to submit.
Step 5: Restart the Game
After confirming, Warzone will log you out and require a restart.
Press the PS button, select the Warzone game card, close it with X, then relaunch from the home screen.
Your new display name will appear in the Verdansk lobby.
