The difficulty ramps up significantly in Area 7 and Area 8. 8-2 is legendary for its difficulty and even "with a weapon" feels almost impossible to clear. And when you do, you almost feel lucky. It's not easy, but it can be done. I stopped in the middle of a play through to record this tutorial to help me remember in the future how I do it. Thought I'd share and hopefully you find it helpful as well.
