Gmail tries to keep spam out of your inbox, but sometimes messages get through. If you see a spam message in your inbox list:
1. Open the Gmail app Gmail application.
2. Tap the letter or photo to the left of the message, or open the message.
3. In the top right, tap More More.
4. Tap Report Spam.
Block an email address
When you block someone, messages they send you will go to your Spam folder.
1. Open the Gmail app Gmail application.
2. Open the message.
3. In the top right of the message, tap More More.
4. Tap Block [yoursender].
If you blocked someone by mistake, you can unblock them using the same steps.
Unsubscribe from a mailing list
If you signed up on a site that sends lots of updates, like emails about upcoming sales, you can unsubscribe from these emails.
1. Open the Gmail application.
2. Open an email from the sender you want to unsubscribe from.
3. At the bottom of the message, tap Unsubscribe or Change preferences. If you don't see these options, the sender didn't give information required for unsubscribing. Instead, you can follow the steps above to block the sender or mark the message as spam.
