Changing the incoming text notification sound on your Samsung Galaxy phone helps you quickly distinguish text messages from other notifications using only sound.

This is how it’s done:

1. Launch the Messages app.
2. Tap the More options icon at the upper-right part of the screen.
3. When the menu appears, select Settings.
4. Inside the Messages settings screen, find and tap Notifications.
5. Swipe up a bit and tap Notification categories.
6. Tap new messages.
7. Now select Sound.
8. Swipe up to view the list of text tones you can use. Tap on the one you want to use and you should be able to hear its preview.
9. After choosing the text tone you like, tap the back arrow to save it.
