How to Change PayPal Email Address

Maybe the email address associated with your PayPal account was hacked. Maybe you're looking to retire the email address associated with your PayPal account. Or, maybe you just want to switch the email address associated with your PayPal account to be an email account you use on a more frequent basis. Regardless of your reason, it is possible to change what email address is associated with your PayPal account. The only catch is that you can't make this change in the PayPal mobile app, and you have to do it on the PayPal website.
In this video, I'll assume that you want to delete your existing email address so that it's no longer associated with your PayPal account. Before you can do this, you'll need to add the email address you want to be associated with your PayPal account to your PayPal account. I link to a video that will walk you through how to do that in the description if you need help. After adding that email address to your PayPal account, you can walk through the steps outlined in this video.
And now, let's walk through how to change the email address associated with your PayPal account on the PayPal website.
Step 1. Open your Web browser, navigate to the PayPal website, and then log into your account if you're not logged in automatically. You'll arrive at your PayPal home screen.
Step 2. Click the "Settings" icon in the upper right corner of the screen. The Settings icon is gray and shaped liked a gear. A screen displaying your account information appears.
Step 3. Ensure that Account is selected in the row of options. Locate the Email section on the right side of the screen, and then click "Update" to the right of the email address you want to make the primary email address for your PayPal account. The Update Your Email screen appears.
Step 4. Click to place a check mark to the left of "Make this my primary email for receiving notifications," and then click the blue "Change Email" button. You'll return to the Account window, where you'll see your chosen email now listed as the primary email account in the Email section.
Step 5. Click "Remove" to the right of the the email account that was previously your primary PayPal email account that you no longer want to be associated with your PayPal account. The email account will automatically be removed, and will no longer be associated with your PayPal account.
