To check the battery life of your PS4 controller on a PS4 console, follow these steps:

Turn on your PS4 Console: Press the power button on your PS4 console or use the PS button on your controller to wake up the console from Rest Mode.

Navigate to the Home Screen: Use the left analog stick to navigate to the Home Screen of the PS4.

Select the Controller Icon: Look for the "Controller" icon on the top row of icons on the Home Screen. It looks like a small controller. Highlight it and press the X button to select it.

Check the Battery Status: On the Controller Information screen, you'll see a list of all connected controllers along with their battery status. Each controller will have an icon representing its battery charge level.

If the battery icon is full, the controller's battery is at its maximum charge.
If the battery icon is partially filled, the battery has a medium charge.
If the battery icon is nearly empty, the battery is low and needs charging.
