2In Odoo's inventory management system, landed cost refers to the total cost of a product delivered to your warehouse, including the initial purchase price and additional expenses incurred during shipment. This incorporates costs like:
Transportation fees (domestic and international)
Customs duties and taxes
Insurance
Currency conversion fees
Handling charges
There are different split methods in Odoo to calculate the landed cost:
1.By Equal:
cost of computer speaker: $500
cost of mic : $1000
transportation charge : $120
orginal value of mic = $1000(1 qty)
orginal value of speaker= $500(2qty)
as per split method equal
landed cost = transportation / no: of products ordered
=120/2 = 60
landed cost of computer speaker = original value + landed cost
=1000+60 =1060
landed cost of 1 unit computer speaker = updated cost/onhand qty = 1060/2 =530
landed cost of mic = 1060/1 = 1060
2.by quantity:
cost of a laptop: $400
cost of an iPhone: 100
transportation charge:100
original value of laptop: 800 ( 2 qty)
original value of the iPhone: 100 (1 qty)
as per split method by quantity
consider sum of ratio of qty = 2:1 = 3
landed cost = transportation charge/sum of ratio of quantity
landed cost of laptop = 400/3 = 66.67
new value (2 qty) = cost of laptop + landed cost of laptop
=800 +66.67 = 866.67
new value of laptop (1 unit) = 433.35
landed cost of iPhone = 100/3 =33.33
new value = 100+33.33
=133.33
new value = cost of iPhone + landed cost of iPhone
=100+33.33
3. By current cost
cost of mouse:100
cost of keyboard:400
transportation charge:100
original value of mouse: 100 (1 qty)
original value of keyboard: 800 (keyboard: 800 (2 qty)
as per split method by current cost:
consider sum of ratio of current cost = 100:800 = 9 (cancel zeros)
landed cost = transportation/ sum of ratio of current cost
landed cost of mouse(1qty) = 100/9 =11.11
new value = original value + landed cost
111.11 = 100+11.11
landed cost of keyboard(2qty) = 800/9 =88.88
new value = 800+88.88
= 888.88
landed cost of keyboard(1qty) = 44.44
new value (1qty) =400 + 44.44 =444.44
4.By weight
weight of corner desk right sit: 8
weight of customized cabinet: 2
transportation charge: 100
original value of corner desk right sit: 1200
original value of customized cabinet: 175.5
as per split method by weight
consider sum of ratio of weight: 8*2:2 =16:2 = 18
landed cost = transportation*weight of product*qty / sum of ratio of weight
landed cost of corner desk
=100*16/18 = 88.88
new value = original value + landed cost
=1200 +88.88 = 1288.88 (2qty)
for 1 qty, 1288.88/2 = 644.44
landed cost of customized cabinet = 100*2/18=11.11
new value = 175.5+11.11 =186. 61
5.By Volume
Volume of Drawer black: 3
volume of cable management box: :6
transportation charge: 100
original value of drawer black: 20
original value of cabinet with door: 180
as per split method by volume
consider sum of ratio of volumn = 6*2:3 = 15.
landed cost = transportation * volume of product* quantity / sum of ratio of volume
landed cost of cable management box
= 100* 12/15 = 80
new value = original value + landed cost
= 180+80 =260
new value (1 qty) = 260/2 =130
landed cost of drawer black = 100*3/15 =20
new value = 20+20 =40
