Follow the steps below to create read only channels on Discord:
1. Right click the channel you want to make read only and select Edit Channel.
2. Once in Edit channel select Permissions, then Advanced Permissions.
3. Under Advanced Permissions ensure you have the @everyone role selected.
4. Move to the Right section and ensure you select the red X next to Send Messages.
5. Save the changes.
