Duolingo has transitioned to a full avatar-based system, meaning users can no longer delete their avatars or use personal profile pictures. However, you can still modify your avatar’s appearance through the built-in avatar editor.
To make changes, open a web browser and go to [www.duolingo.com](https://www.duolingo.com/), then log into your account. You can also do this through the Duolingo mobile app. Once logged in, go to your profile section, where you’ll see your avatar. Click the pencil-shaped edit icon to access customization options.
Here, you can adjust various aspects of your avatar, such as skin tone, facial expressions, hairstyles, accessories, and props. Once you've made your desired changes, click the "Done" button to save them. While you cannot remove your avatar entirely, this is the best way to personalize it according to your preferences.
