Many apps on your Mac use notifications to let you know about events, updates, or changes. Notifications appear briefly in the top-right corner of the desktop or stay there until you close them.
With macOS 11 Big Sur, Apple redesigned Notification Center. It is now a single column of notifications and widgets to provide quick information with just a click. Let’s take a look at the new Notification Center, and how you can customize it to your liking.
Safari Notifications can be great, but a flood of them can hide what you really want to see. Here's how to get them under control, and specify which notifications will be displayed to you in macOS.
In macOS Big Sur, Notification Center is accessed by clicking on the date in the menu bar, located in the upper right of the screen. There is no longer a Notification Center icon.
Use General preferences in Mail to change options for checking for new messages, downloading attachments, searching, and more.
