How to draw structure of cholesterol/steroids class 11 biology
2Aoa! MY name Is Ehsan and welcome to Biology with Ehsan
In this lecture we discussed the structure of steroids. In the beginning of the lecture a simple concept is explained that why steroids are included in lipids although they don't share many properties of lipids. Than the definition of steroids is explained. The simplest steroid which is gonane , elaborated completely which consists of four fused rings. Three rings are cyclohexanes containing six carbons and one ring is cyclopentane. Gonane give rise to all steroids like cholesterol, testosterone, progesterone, estrogen,bile salts and vitamin D3.
How to draw structure of steroids.
After that we discussed the structure of cholesterol and learnt how to draw structure of cholesterol correctly. Which side chains are involved in structure of cholesterol.
