How To Easily Disable Hibernate In Windows 10
In this video I will show you how to easily disable hibernate in windows 10. In this video I will show you the only way to permanently disable windows 10 hibernate function.
What is Hibernation? This is a state where you can turn your computer off, then when you turn your computer back on it resumes from where you left off, no need to reboot and start windows. When hibernation is enabled on windows 10 it creates a file on the root of your C: drive which usually takes up gigs of data. If you disable hibernation this file will be deleted.
To disable the hibernation feature open the command prompt by clicking on your start menu then type in cmd and right click on command prompt and select run as administrator. In the black window (Command prompt) type in powercfg.exe /h off then as long as there are no errors reboot your machine for the setting to take affect.
You can also disable the hibernate feature by doing the following. Press Windows Key + R to open run, Type in regedit to open registry editor, Navigate to this key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power
Change the value of HibernateEnabled to 1 to enable hibernation OR 0 to disable hibernation
