How to Enable Save as Prompt in Google Chrome [Tutorial]

By default, Chrome will automatically place every file you download into your Downloads folder. If you’d rather choose where to put files, switch this toggle in Chrome’s settings.

Issues addressed in this tutorial:
download prompt chrome
chrome download save as option
chrome download prompt not appearing

If you are using Google Chrome on Windows 11 or 10 PCs, you can quickly enable or disable the “Save As” prompt using Chrome Settings or Windows Registry. By default, the Chrome browser saves all the downloaded files in the Downloads folder.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.
