Step 1. Open the Settings app on your Android device, and then tap "Network and Internet."

Step 2. Tap "VPN" in this menu.

Step 3. Tap "VPN by Google" on the next screen. The next screen gives you an overview of VPN by Google, letting you know that the service lets you keep your network traffic private at no extra cost.

Step 4. If you decide you want to use VPN by Google, scroll down to the bottom of this menu, and then tap "Use VPN." A window pops up asking if you want to allow VPN by Google to send you notifications. Choose whether or not you want to let the service send you notifications. VPN by Google will be enabled immediately. You can navigate back to this screen at any time to either pause the service, or turn it off entirely.
