If you’re looking to back up your important passwords, migrate to a different password manager, or simply want to have an offline copy of your data for added security, exporting your 1Password vault is a crucial step. This ensures that you have all your sensitive information securely saved and easily accessible whenever you need it. So, if you’re ready to take control of your password security and make sure your data is safely backed up, let’s dive right into it.
Step 1. Open the 1Password app on your computer. Again, I'll be showing you how to export the 1Password vault in 1Password 8.
Step 2. Tap the ellipses at the top of the options on the left side of the screen to open a menu.
Step 3. Click "Export" in this menu to open a submenu, and then click the name of the 1Password vault you want to export in this menu. A window pops up.
Step 4. Enter the master password for your 1Password account, and then choose the format you want your vault data exported in. In this example I'll choose a CSV file. Click "Export Data" after you're done choosing your options.
Step 5. Choose the location where you want your 1Password vault data saved to, and then click "Save." After your export is complete, a window is displayed in your 1Password app letting you know the export is finished.
