If you’re looking to expand the ways you can access and enjoy your media library, enabling DLNA can be incredibly useful. DLNA (or Digital Living Network Alliance) allows you to stream your Plex media content to a wide variety of devices, including smart TVs, gaming consoles, and other media players that support DLNA, without needing the Plex app. This makes your Plex Media Server more versatile, and ensures that everyone can enjoy your media on their preferred devices. So, if you’re ready to enhance your media streaming capabilities, let’s dive right into it.
Step 1. Open a web browser, navigate to www.Plex.TV, and then sign into your Plex account. You'll land on your Plex home screen.
Step 2. Click the "Settings" icon in the top right corner of the screen. Your Plex settings menu opens.
Step 3. Scroll down to the Settings section on the left side of the screen, and then click "DLNA" in this menu. Plex DLNA options are shown on the right side of the screen.
Step 4. Click to place a check mark next to "Enable the DLNA Server." With the DLNA server enabled, your Plex Media Server can now stream media to DLNA devices. You can adjust your Plex DLNA settings in this section.
