This is a glitch for Octopath Traveler that's been known for a while, found by Doid # 5819 on Discord. I believe it's called "Void State Glitch" and is used in glitched speedruns for the game.

I made this video to show how it can be used to Fast Travel out of the final dungeon, Gate of Finis, in case players wanted to just beat the gauntlet of 8 bosses and save before fighting Galdera.

This is actually possible via a recent mod on PC, but knowing how to do this glitch allows Nintendo Switch users to do this too. (It also only takes about 2 minutes to set up and do so you can teleport/fast travel; this video is only long because I went very slow to show it at length.)

The only requirement to doing this glitch is knowing how to do the buffer glitch to enter Out Of Bounds. I used H'aanit's chapter 1 sign for convenience.

Edit: see Doid's comment below for extra clarifications ("(5:24) Make sure that you are going from File Select back to Continue when you hit yes to watch something in the journal. (5:30) Make sure that you tap B once so that you are back on the title screen before holding B to skip the cutscene. (6:50) You only needed to open and close the menu there to clear the black screen, no TP required. You would have been where you saved if you did so. That was not the void yet, just a simple black screen :p.")
