How to Find Euro Truck Simulator 2 Application Folder on Mac Using Terminal
Useful when:
Installing mods
Loading new game saves
This is a follow-up on how to install mods on Mac.
Some people are complaining they can’t find the folder under:
Library - Application Support - Euro Truck Simulator 2
I have thought of a way to find the path to your Euro Truck simulator 2 game folder on Mac using the terminal.
Don’t worry. It is not complex.
We will use the terminal’s beefier search command to look for specific files in the Euro Truck Simulator 2 folder.
The command is mdfind
Since the command spits out the path to the file, we can use this sleuthing to find our missing folder.
The files we will search for are:
game.log.txt
global_controls.sii
news.sii
mods_info.sii
At least, this seem common to the game.
Launch your terminal, navigate to it or search for it using Finder
Type mdfind filename….. for our case…. Mdfind game.log.txt
Visually search through the results and look for one with Euro Truck or ETS2.
Chances of getting multiple hits exist. So you will have to do some detective work or try another command.
For my case, I got
/Users/username/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~Pages/Documents/Untitled 3.pages
/Users/username/Library/Application Support/Euro Truck Simulator 2/game.log.txt
The second result seems right because it has Euro Truck Simulator 2.
Your search might yield a different path. Ensure you follow the path given to discover your folder.
Here is me trying the search again with a different query
I hope that helps you out.
