How to Fix a non responsive Camera Issues on Mac using Terminal

Rather than having to reboot your Mac every time, you can reset your camera with a few simple steps using Terminal.
First, you'll need to access Terminal by going to the magnifying glass in the top right corner of your screen and searching for "Terminal." Once you open Terminal, you'll need to run a command as an administrator to kill the VDC assistant service that controls the camera. You'll need to enter your password to do this.
Once you've completed these steps, your camera should start working again, and you can continue recording without interruption. the command is:
sudo killall VDCAssistant
to fix a non-responsive webcam on a Mac is to run the "sudo killall VDCAssistant" command in the Terminal app. This command will force quit the process that manages your Mac's built-in camera, and allow it to restart and function properly. Here are the steps to follow:
Open the Terminal app on your Mac. You can find it in the Applications - Utilities folder or by using Spotlight search.
Type the following command: sudo killall VDCAssistant
Press Enter on your keyboard.
Enter your Mac's administrator password when prompted.
Press Enter again.
Quit the Terminal app and launch the app you want to use your webcam with.
The "sudo killall VDCAssistant" command can be a quick and easy fix for a non-responsive webcam on a Mac
fyi if you need to reset audio the command is:
sudo killall coreaudiod
