How to fix error when installing wordpress - Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp()

I am getting an error when installing wordpress in my VPS (amazon lightsail).

The page isn't working HTTP ERROR 500.

then i checked the apache log at /var/log/apache2/error.log it shows another error:

PHP Error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function wp()

I found the solution for this, the issue is caused by wp-config.php is broken.
You have to delete it first, then recreate wp-config.php.
