This video will show you how to repair External Hard Disk not detected. I will fix the WD Passport not recognized plus give additional steps for ANY External Hard Disks not showing up in Windows 10.
First, you need to check your status of Western Digital. And to do this, you will download a free program.
Visit this site, link download WD Drives utilities in the top comment.
Once downloaded file, extract it by using Winrar or 7Zip.
Now run the intstaller file to install the utility setup.
Open up WD Drives utilities, and then it automatically detected my Passport.

Now you can actually go through here and run drive status check.

Next, go to Drive Erase to erase your external drive.

Check this box and then click Erase Drive button.
