How to Fix System Muted on Startup on Windows 10 [Tutorial]

Windows 10 bugs will never fail to surprise users when the crop up. Normally, you can count on a clean installation of the OS to be bug-free. In fact, in most cases where users are dealing with bugs that simply will not go away, a clean install is often the cure. That said, even a clean install can still have bugs and one of those rather odd bugs is that the system is muted every time you boot to your desktop. It may also happen when you restart it or wake it from sleep but you can expect it to happen after a shut down, and start. The cause is unknown but the cure is simple.

When you power on your Windows PC, the first thing it does is play the startup sound. If you forget to turn down the volume before shutting down your PC, then it is going to play a loud startup sound as your switch it on. This may become especially awkward at work as you would be distracting everyone by playing your loud volume sound. A solution for this problem is to use free Auto Mute program which automatically turns off your system sound at events like shutdown, startup and logon.

You can download the Auto Mute program from their website. The download is in form of a setup installer. After the installation, you can launch it from its desktop or Start Menu shortcut. It shows up the settings window on the first run.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).
