How to fix the save problem bug of F1 2012
A very common problem with F1 2012 is that the save option stop working randomly, and get stuck. All career progress, settings, statistics, etc... all is lost when you exit the game, even after manually saving the profile. To fix this, follow the instructions:
Select Multiplayer - Split Screen - Press Start on a second controller / or press Enter on the keyboard
P1: Select any team & driver
P2: Select any team & driver - Any Race Settings - Any track.
Once on track P1 pause and select Options - Driving Controls and change Control Profile to another option and then back again. Exit back out of the Pause menu.
P2 pause and select Options - Driving Controls and change Control Profile to another option and then back again. Back out to Pause Options, select Quit To Main Menu - Yes.
You should now be able to save again.
This solution was publish first by a member of the codemasters forum call "Hatta", but I make this video so more people can find the solution quick and easy. At least until codemasters make a permanent solution to this issue.
The bad news is that the save problem can appear again randomly again, later on, like before. To be sure, just do this procedure I mention every-time before you exit the game. Or at least when you finish playing a big important race, and you want to make sure is save.
Also, I recommend you backup your userdata folders every-time you exit the game. Is on C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\FLT and C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\My Games\FormulaOne2012
And disable steam cloud sync, to avoid data corruption.
Feel free to leave a comment or question.
Enjoy.
