1. First thing to do is check your internet connection. Make sure you turn on your wi-fi or cellular data and try checking your message function on tiktok. If it does not solves your issue then follow the further step.
2. Go to your tiktok application and tap it open. From the home screen of tiktok go to the me button at the bottom right corner and from your profile tap on the the three dots on the upper right corner.
3. And then tap on "Manage account". If your phone number is register for your tiktok then you will be able to see phone number displayed right in this page.
4.If you don't have your phone number verified yet then simply go to the phone number option and enter your phone number and then you receive the four digit code that you just entered. Simply enter the code one more time in the next page and you will be able to verify your tiktok.
5. After you do go back to your inbox page and simply select a contact and try sending a text message to them. If it solves your issue than that's great .
6. Next one is you need to check out for the updates so go to the play store and search for tiktok.
7. Update the application if you have not updates your tiktok app.

10. Select "Privacy" under "Account" tab. Scroll all the way down and under safety tap on the direct messages option. If my direct messages has been set to no one either select "friends" or "Everyone". If you don't want messages from random strangers just click on "Friends".
