How to get 30 columns and 36 rows on standard PAL VIC 20

There are four registers to change on the unexpanded VIC-20,
36867 = rows x2 (just accept it's the rows x2 lol)
36868 = columns
36864 controls left offset of display, 36865 vertical offset value
(making the width or height shorter depending on your needs will give you more RAM to code up a game in machine code or BASIC but this is just to show how close the Spectrum and the VIC-20 technically are and how much of a personal choice than an advance in technology the 16kb Speccy alternative choice I had as a kid getting a VIC-20 was)
