My setup is old, so I have a GTX 960 4GB installed & always struggled with massive frame drops in game.

I found a solution that worked for me, the = less drops & smoother gameplay. Add the command --dx11 or -d3d11 to your Evil Dead game launcher.
Ps. I used -d3d11

The solution is for Steam version, but I have Epic version & works the same.
Hope it helps someone out there.
