With 1.8 coming up, I thought this might be a good tutorial to show how to have multiple, separate installations of Minecraft on your computer. Why would you want that? Well, you can have one vanilla install to do your legit LP stuff, another install with your test worlds and SPC/WE tools, another to test out new mods without wrecking everything else, another to keep your olf 1.7.3 worlds from getting broken by 1.8 patches, etc. Lots of possibilities!
