How to Install SideQuest on the Oculus Quest 2 - Enable Developer Mode on Quest 2 - 2021 Guide
In this video I'll show you how to install, discover and play an infinite amount of games for free on the oculus quest 2 with the unofficial Store, SideQuest! Sidequest requires you to enable Developer mode on your Oculus Quest 2, but you can no longer enable developer mode with the oculus mobile app, so I will explain how to enable developer mode and record full 1080p, 60fps, 16:9 video capture on Oculus Quest 2.

5:02 Tips and Tricks
Step 1: Download and install "Oculus Developer Hub" (ODH) HERE - https://developer.oculus.com/downloads/package/oculus-developer-hub-win/
Step 2: Search for your device in ODH (may require multiple attempts) and ENABLE DEVELOPER MODE on your Oculus Quest 2.
IF your account says "you're not a developer account" or something, go HERE https://developer.oculus.com/manage/ and create an organization to become a developer.
Step 3: Download and install the Sidequest app HERE - https://sidequestvr.com
This app allows you to modify settings within the Quest headset, but you'll also be able to run unofficial Oculus games and modded apps (which we won't cover today).
Step 4: Once installed, open the Sidequest app and connect your Quest with a USB to your PC.
Step 5: Put on the headset and click ALLOW. Sidequest should then go GREEN in the top left, showing that your Quest 2 is connected to the Sidequest app.
Step 6: Click the GEAR / WRENCH in the top right of Sidequest and you'll see a bunch of settings for your headset.
Step 7: Change the REFRESH RATE to 60HZ and enable Full Rate Capture. This makes the Oculus Quest 2 record at 60fps.
Step 8: Set video capture size to 1080p.
Step 9: Set Capture Video Bitrate to a higher value than default. The higher the number, the better the recorded video quality / file size.
*You can use ADB commands to go beyond the options listed in the Sidequest settings.
YOU'RE DONE! Your Oculus Quest 2 is now recording 1080p at 60fps.
*THESE SETTINGS WILL RESET EVERY TIME YOU RESTART THE HEADSET*
ADB commands (these allow you to adjust the settings we just mentioned):
Click the Box with Arrow in the top right of Sidequest and select CUSTOM COMMAND.
Enter in the following commands ONE AT A TIME:
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.capture.width 1920
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.capture.height 1080
^Adjusts the recorded resolution^
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.capture.bitrate 10000000
^Adjusts your bitrate to a custom number. I just change the 1 to a 2 for my recordings^
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.foveation.level 0
^Removes some field of view stuff that shows up in recordings^
adb shell setprop debug.oculus.capture.fps 60
^this is supposed to set recordings to 60fps regardless of your refresh rate, but doesn't seem to work^
