How to install Windows 8.1 on your computer or laptop.

1. Insert the windows 8.1 dvd into your computer or laptop

2. Boot from the windows 8.1 dvd, when booting up you should see a black screen with the saying “press any key to boot from CD or DVD”, if not you will need to get into your boot menu. This site may help you with that (http://support.fixmestick.com/hc/en-us/articles/201577043-How-to-get-to-your-Boot-Menu-or-your-BIOS-settings)

3. If your computer or laptop did not have windows 8 on it, you will need the dvd key. (In my case I will need it.)

4. At windows setup check I accept the license terms. Next go to “Custom: Install Windows only (advanced).”

5. Delete everything until you see 1 hard drive icon. Next click on the hard drive icon and then click “New” then “apply” then “ok”. If your computer or laptop is using EFI you should get 4 hard drive icons, if not using EFI you should only get 2. Now hit next to install.

6. Let Windows 8.1 install it's self. This can take some time.

7. Make computer name and hit next, use express settings.

8. Put in your Microsoft Account info in or hit create a new account. If you don't want to make an e-mail account Microsoft hit sign in with out a Microsoft account and make a user name and hit finish.

9. now you have windows 8.1 on your computer or laptop, I hope this video helped.
