Roku devices are great for streaming Amazon Prime Video. The quality is great, and the menu is easy to navigate. However, if you want to switch the account that you're signed into Amazon Prime Video with on your Roku, it can be a bit of a headache. In this video, I'll walk you through the steps to log out of Amazon Prime Video on your Roku device, so you can sign in with the Amazon account you actually want to use.
Now let's walk through the steps to log out of Amazon Prime Video on a Roku device.
Step 1. Launch the "Prime Video" app on your Roku device. You'll land on your Amazon Prime Video home screen.
Step 2. Use the D-pad on the Roku remote to highlight "Settings" in the menu along the top of the screen, and then press "OK." The Settings screen appears.
Step 3. Use the Roku remote to highlight "Deregister Your Device" in the list of options in the Settings menu, and then press "OK" on the Roku remote. A screen appears asking if you're sure you want to deregister your Roku from your Amazon account.
Step 4. Highlight the "Deregister Your Device" button using the Roku remote, and then press "OK." A window pops up asking again if you're sure you want to deregister this Roku from your Amazon account. Highlight "OK" on the screen, and then press "OK" on your remote. A Success window appears, confirming that you have successfully deregistered this device from your Amazon account, and logged out of Amazon Prime Video on your Roku device.
Step 5. Press "OK" on your Roku remote. You'll be returned to your Roku home screen.
Now, the next time you launch the Amazon Prime Video app, you'll be prompted to log in. This is where you can sign into Amazon Prime Video with a different account.
