In late 2018, Amazon added whisper mode functionality to its Alexa service. When Alexa whisper mode is enabled, Alexa will whisper responses back to you when she detects that your whispering to her. While the feature is mildly creepy, it's great if you want to use your Alexa device in a room where you need to be quiet, such as a room where you may be trying to put a baby to sleep.
Now let's walk through the steps to turn on Alexa whisper mode in the Amazon Alexa app for iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
Step 1. Tap to open the Amazon Alexa app on your smart device. You'll arrive at your Amazon Alexa home screen.
Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon in the upper left corner of the screen. A menu flys in from the left side of the screen.
Step 3. Tap "Settings" in the menu. The Settings screen opens.
Step 4. Tap "Alexa Account" at the top of the Settings screen. The Alexa Account screen appears.
Step 5. Tap "Alexa Voice Responses" in the list of options. The Alexa Voice Responses screen appears.
Step 6. Locate Whispered Responses in the list of options, and then tap the toggle to the right of Whispered Responses to turn it on. Now, whenever you whisper to an Alexa device, Alexa will whisper back to you.
