This is just a brief video to show you how I loosen the PVC, in this example for Darth Vader, but works for almost all figures. I mention another option as well. Note: you can also use small bits of rope or other cloth in place of the clear tape. Any questions or ideas of your own are most welcome below in the comments section.
For accessories such as lightsaber blades, swords, etc that are plastic or pvc type of materials, one trick is to boil it which usually bounces it back to original shape. If not, then straighten it after it has been heated, (hair dryer works just as well), then hold straight for a minute or two as it cools a bit. After that, put it in the freezer, and it should be just right then. Sometimes takes a few attempts.
I hope this helps you all! It allows you to pose figures that for some reason they used heavy materials that prevent you from using all the awesome articulation to pose them. :)
