About this video: This video is our step-by-step guide on how to make a Minecraft Pocket Edition server. This video will also show you how to make a Minecraft Bedrock edition server as MCPE and Minecraft Bedrock are the exact same codebase, and can be played together. Thus, if you are looking for a Minecraft Pocket Edition or Minecraft Bedrock server, this video will help you out. Let's dive right on into it.
First and foremost, we need to download the Minecraft Pocket Edition server file. You can find this linked in the description above. If you notice this is actually listed as the 'Minecraft Bedrock Server download'. This is because again, they are the same server. It is at this point worth noting that you will need a Windows computer in order to start this server. You cannot start a Minecraft Pocket Edition server from an iPhone or Android device.
Nevertheless, once you've downloaded the Minecraft Pocket Edition server file, you will be given a zip folder. Unzip this folder and open up the new folder that was created. Here, you will have a 'bedrock_server.exe' file. Just double-click on that. You may then need to let the server through your firewalls/antivirus. This is perfectly fine as this server is distributed by Mojang. Your Minecraft Pocket Editon Server will now start.
From here, you could join the server if you were on the same network as the server. But, your friends couldn't join it. In order for your friends to join your #MCPEServer, you will need to port forward. Now, this is actually very, very easy. First things first, we need to open up the CMD and type 'ipconfig'. This will then give us a few numbers we want to make note of our IPv4 address and default gateway.
Now, take your default gateway, and put that into your browser and hit enter. A login box will popup. From here, you need to enter your router's username and password. You can find this information using the links in the description above. Once you have logged in to your router, we need find port forwarding. This could also be known as 'Apps & Gaming', 'Nat Forwarding', or 'Port Triggering/Port Forwarding'. It could also be a combination of any of those names.
Once you've found your port forwarding section, you need to forward the port '19132'. Now, go get your public IP from the link in description above. This is what your friends will use to join. Have the type that into their #Minecraft Pocket Edition add server panel, and just like that, you have created your own #MinecraftPocketEdition server!
