How To Make The World's Longest Wig: A 351-Meter Challenge #shorts
In this video, I will show you the amazing story of Helen Williams, a Nigerian wigmaker who created the world's longest handmade wig, measuring over 350 metres long! You won't believe how she did it and what challenges she faced along the way.
Helen Williams is a professional wigmaker who has been making wigs for eight years. She decided to attempt the Guinness World Record for the longest handmade wig as a personal challenge and a way to showcase her skills. She spent 11 days and over two million naira (about $2,500) making the wig, using 1,000 bundles of hair, 12 cans of hair spray, 35 tubes of hair glue, and 6,250 hair clips. She had to lay the wig out on a highway in Nigeria to measure it, as no other venue was long enough to accommodate it.
Helen's wig measured 351.28 metres (1,152 feet 5 inches), breaking the previous record by a huge margin. She received her official certificate from Guinness World Records in January 2024, and became a source of inspiration and pride for many Nigerians. She now keeps the wig in her office, where she invites anyone to come and see it.
