To make your friends list private on Steam, follow these steps:

Log in to Steam.
Hover over your name on the Steam interface and click “Profile”.
Click on “Edit Profile” in the upper right corner.
Then, click on “My Privacy Settings”.

In the “Profile Status” section, choose either “Private” or “Friends Only”:
Private: Only your Steam friends can see your account.
Friends Only: Your friends and their friends can view your profile.
Click “Save Changes” to apply your privacy settings.
