This was my very first time learning how to change Switch shells/how to change Joy Con shells and I must say it was an experience. If you're thinking about getting yourself a Nintendo Switch transparent shell or maybe going for the same as me (a transparent purple Switch) then make sure you've done your research first. Watch a few guides, please feel free to use this guide as a starting point, I've tried to be as honest as possible about the experience & I've covered pretty much everything but if you want to know how to mod your Nintendo Switch or how to change Switch shells then make sure you've watched a few videos & feel confident before diving in.

A few things to consider:
- I'm not an electrician, I don't consider myself very handy when it comes to taking tech apart.
- I had never done this before.
- I followed a lot of fantastic guides before attempting this.
- I took my time and was extremely careful.
- THINGS STILL WENT WRONG!

If you want to know the answer to the question "is it easy to change Switch shells" then the answer is simple. No. It takes time, it's fiddly work, things can go wrong & it can be very stressful. BUT, if you do your research & take ownership for any issues that may arise you'll end up with a fantastic custom Nintendo Switch / custom Nintendo Switch Joy Cons at the end of it all.
