Step 1. Open the Gmail app on your Android device. Your Gmail home screen is displayed.
Step 2. Tap the "Menu" icon on this screen. A menu opens.
Step 3. Scroll down this menu, and then tap "Settings." Your Gmail settings menu is displayed.
Step 4. Tap to select "General Settings" in the primary menu, and then tap "Manage Notifications" in the associated menu. A screen opens where you can mute your Gmail notifications.
Step 5. If you have multiple Gmail accounts set up on your Android device and you just want to mute one, find the Gmail account you want to mute notifications for and then toggle all notifications off for that account. Alternatively, if you want to turn off all Gmail notifications, you just need to toggle the All Gmail Notifications option at the top of this menu off.
