How to (NOT) create a lake - Cities Skylines Unmodded - #20

I tried to create a lake in Cities Skylines, without any mods. I did research, I prepared but I didn't rehearse… so it was all theory, what could possibly go wrong?! I did manage to create a lake… but little did I know that I was also setting up my city for total annihilation…
Playing unmodded, because i find it enhances the overall performance of the game and forces me to be simple in my approach to the game, which is something I normally only appreciate after i mess my cities up.
Also it makes this experience consistent between PC and Console users (except for the recent DLCs), so come forth my PC Master Race and Console peasant users and share this experience with me!
