How To Play a Mind flayer as Player Character Race in Dungeons & Dragons
Playing a mind flayer or illithid as a PC is no simple task for a dungeons master to figure out. We take stab at it from to different angles. We look at making a mind flayer like race as well as discuss a level progression of the monster as if it were a character class. The reskin of one of the other character races from the players handbook is the easiest way to do it. Now this won't produce as powerful an option for a player, but one that is much more balanced against the other players in the game. Real question here is the player grabbing for a more powerful PC or are they looking for a role-playing challenge.
