The 5th Interval

The 5th interval is the distance between the root note of a major scale and the note that is five scale degrees higher. For instance, if you are in the key of G, the 5th of G is D because D is the 5th note in the G major scale. Count up from the root (see below): G (1), A (2), B (3), C (4), D (5)
