Video Transcript:
GIFs can be a great way to get your point across and make your post standout on Threads. However, if you copy and paste a link to a GIF on Threads, it will post as a link to the GIF and not as the video on a loop. When this happens, it can reduce the impact of your post. Thankfully, all you need to do to post your GIF so that it plays as a video on a loop is download the GIF to your device, and then attach it to your Threads post. I'll show you how to do that in this video.
Now let's walk through the steps to post a GIF on Threads.
Step 1. Either open a new post in Threads, or find the post you want to reply to. In this example, I'll reply to someone else's post with a GIF.
Step 2. I'll navigate to Giphy.com and then will find the GIF I want to use.
Step 3. Tap the vertical ellipses under that GIF to open the GIF in its own window. Hold your finger against the GIF to open a menu, and then tap "Save to Photos" to save the GIF to your device.
Step 4. Now, re-open the Threads app and either your new post or the post you want to reply to. Tap the paper clip icon in the section where you would enter your text. Available pictures and videos that can be inserted into your post are shown.
Step 5. Find the GIF you just downloaded to your device, tap to select it, and then tap "Add." Your GIF will be inserted into your post. Now, when you post your item on Threads, the GIF will play on a loop.
