1Brett Favre is a former American football quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Favre was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, and grew up in the small town of Kiln. He was the second of four children of Bonita Ann (née Christensen) and Irvin Ernest Favre, Sr. He has Danish ancestry from his mother's side. He was raised Catholic.
Irvin Favre, Brett's father, said that when Favre was around three years old, he threw a tantrum after Irvin put him in time-out, and Brett picked up a nearby TV remote and threw it at Irvin's head. Favre's parents said they never saw Brett display any type of violence growing up.
Brett Favre is pronounced "FAH-vruh".
